Comedians Need Space And Freedom To Perform – Robo Shankar
Shankar, the comedian who raised the humour quotient in Maari is quite content with the directors he works with and his co stars. His comic timing and body language is a rage in Tamil movie world with movies like Vaai Moodi Pesavum, Kappal, Moone Moonu Varthai etc.
While talking about his Maari team, he can’t express his appreciation enough. He believes that the success of a movie lies in its comedy element. He further said: "A comedian needs his space and freedom to perform well. Dhanush and director Balaji Mohan gave me complete freedom. We would improvise a lot on the set and Dhanush would enjoy that. He would burst out laughing and appreciate my dialogues,"
As for his upcoming movie Puli, he is absolutely confident about the uproarious laughter he is going to create in the theatre. He believes that his character in Puli will be loved by children and it is quite different from all the roles he has done so far.
He feels cold and hot at the same time about his previous career in the television. He thinks that the television scenario is confined and had no scope for his growth, but at the same time feels nostalgic about the time. He is impatiently waiting for the release of many of the prestigious movies in Tamil like VSOP, Puli, Maya, Trisha Illana Nayanthara etc..
